“ | They’re right. Even if I blindly ran away, I wouldn’t know where I was going. And besides… I don’t have anywhere to go back to. As long as I obediently serve some master somewhere. | „ |
~ Einar reflecting on his place in the world. |
Einar is the deuteragonist of the manga series Vinland Saga and its anime adaptation.
He is a young man from the northern parts of England that lost his family through war, causing him to have distain towards warriors, but especially the Danes, having killed his mother and sister. He would eventually become a slave and work on a farm owned by a man named Ketil, there he would come to meet Thorfinn.
Appearance
Einar is a young man in his adolescence. He is a very tall and strong, easily towering over many of the other characters and has clear pronounced muscles. He has reddish brown hair that he keeps relatively short in the front. He would keep his hair in a small ponytail when he was still living in the northern parts of England. He has slightly tanned skin with greyish blue eyes.
He wears a standard green tunic, loose grey trousers, as well as having brown leather footwear.
Personality
Despite his rather tough appearance, Einar is a very emotional and outspoken person. He has very strong personal principles and values, having no issue showing to people his more wrathful side if they were to disregard those values. But he can also work very well with others, having a natural sense of being helpful and sociable. This helps him to break the barriers between the more introverted Thorfinn and appreciate him as a person.
