Edward Joseph "Ed" Chilton is the main titular protagonist in the 1993 film Ed And His Dead Mother.
Ed Chilton was portrayed by Steve Buscemi, who was known for playing his role as Mr. Pink in Reservoir Dogs, Horace Nebbercracker from Monster House.

Ed was in grief over his mother for a year, he missed her so much he made a deal with AJ Pattle to bring her back to life. At first, Ed is fine with his mother staying alive, although she did things she would usually never do. Ed is in denial to believe that his mother must stay alive, but suddenly, he decided to get help from AJ Pattle to put her back in the grave once and for all. Once he did, Ed lets go of the past issues and move on with his life.
Ed is portrayed as a cute yet shy and awkward young man who is lonely, he felt devastated by the loss of his mother. Because of this, Ed gets irritable and stubborn. Eventually, Ed learns to be more independent and lets go of the past.
Ed is noted to be very sweet, kind and gentle to others. When Storm visits him on the porch, he offers her a refreshment. Ed is considerate of others' feelings when he told Uncle Benny to subtly get rid of Uncle Bill and Aunt Sophie in order to not upset them.
Ed has shown a romantic and affectionate side. Although he was not in the mood when Uncle Benny lectured him. Soon enough, Ed falls deeply in love with the beautiful neighbor girl Storm. Ed believes that he and Storm has something special together, he also saves her life when his mother nearly ran her over. Nevertheless, Ed and Storm get to move on with their life together.
