Dr. Andonuts is a major protagonist of the science fantasy NES 1994 video game Mother 2/EarthBound and its 2006 sequel game Mother 3.
He is the estranged father of Jeff Andonuts, being an inventor who creates wacky inventions, some of which help the party such as his Phase Distorter.
He returns eons later after being kidnapped by Porky Minch and forced to help him create Chimeras, until helping Lucas and his friends stand up to him.
Personality
Dr. Andonuts is an eccentric inventor who is always fascinated with science and enjoys coming up with new inventions. He can display poor social skills, such as pointing out how his son used to wet the bed or suggesting Boney as a sacrifice, but he is always kind and well-meaning. He loves his son deeply even if he left him at the orphanage.
Biography
At some point, him and an unknown woman would have a genius son named Jeff around 13 years before 19XX. He would not take part in raising Jeff, instead leaving him at an orphanage in Winters, so he could focus on his inventions in his lab.
Upon reuniting with Jeff, he lets him borrow a phase Distorter to help rescue his soon-to-be friends in Threed. He later works alongside Apple Kid to build another Phase Distorter, but it would get stolen by Porky Minch. He would then help turn the kids into robots and build them another Phase Distorter so they could travel to the Cave of the Past and stop Giygas.
When the boys come back victorious, he decides to head back to his lab and work alongside his son.
Millenia later, Porky Minch would travel through time and force Dr. Andonuts to help with his experiments, such as Chimeras and building an Absolute Safe Capsule. Once a hostile Ultimaye Chimera broke out in a lab, he would eventually be saved by Lucas and Boney. He then assists the group in their quest to defeat Porky and eventually indirectly helps cause Porky to lock himself in the Absolute Safe Capsule forever. He wonders if this date is too horrific for even Porky, but then decides the best thing to do is just roll him around for fun in the meantime.
