However, it is by making up many stories and entwining Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and other works of fiction into the Book of Mormon.

Personality
Arnold Cunningham is an extremely nerdy, geeky guy who is into various fantasy and science fiction franchises, including Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings and Star Trek, and is shown to especially love the movies and shows of these franchises. He is also shown to be a person who has never been good at making and keeping friends, always annoying them and driving them away before he can properly get to know them. Because of this, and because of a controlling father who is disappointed in him, and who he's tried to impress for a long time, Cunningham began lying - or rather making up stories - when he doesn't know what else to say. At the end of the play, however, Price and Cunningham has finally truly become best friends.
