Adeleine is one of the tritagonists of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (along with King Dedede and a Waddle Dee) and a supporting protagonist of Kirby Star Allies.
Personality and Bio
Adeleine is an artist who makes her home on Planet Popstar. Her lack of dialogue makes her personality largely unknown, but she is rather peppy, like Ado before her was in Kirby's Dream Land 3. She has the ability to paint things and make them come to life to help Kirby on his adventure.
Appearance
Adeleine wears a red beret, green collared smock, blue knee-high socks, brown shoes with yellow laces, a short grey skirt (in Kirby Star Allies), has black eyes, (green in gameplay) and short black hair. In her possessed state, Adeleine gains bigger eyes that look sunken and have orange/red irises.
History
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Adeleine first appears in the second stage of the first world, Planet Popstar. She is simply painting a picture when a Crystal Shard falls next to her. She turns and picks it up, but she fails to notice a Dark Matter (namely Dark Rimura) materialising on her easel. When she turns around, she gets jumped by the Dark Matter agent and possessed. Kirby, Ribbon, and Waddle Dee then arrive to find her possessed, and are forced to battle her. After she is defeated, she reverts back to her normal self and agrees to join Kirby's team while Dark Rimura flees the scene.
Adeleine summons various monsters from Kirby's past, much like Ado, her counterpart in Kirby's Dream Land 3 as well as a mass of pixels and an unidentifiable, Gordo-esque enemy. Unlike Ado, whose paintings can't be inhaled, only 2 out of 10 of Adeleine's paintings can't be inhaled, due to them being treated as common enemies. After she runs out of things to paint, Adeleine will perform a charge attack, but can be defeated by a slide attack. After Kirby and the gang defeat Adeleine, she agrees to join their team and the three set out to find the rest of the Crystal Shards.
Throughout various levels of the game, Adeleine will appear and paint items for Kirby. If Kirby enters the area Adeleine is in with full life, she paints a 1UP, otherwise she paints a Maxim Tomato. She may also paint pictures to help Kirby solve puzzles so he can obtain a shard.
Kirby Star Allies
Adeleine later appears in Kirby Star Allies as a special ally called a Dream Friend. She is paired with Ribbon, and their moveset typically revolves around her artistic moves, such as Al Fresco and Brush Slash, though some exceptions, such as Ribbon's Crystal and Fairy Dance, exist.

Trivia
- In some media, it is suggested that Ado and Adeline are the same person, since they look similar. However, a difference is that Ado has black, beady eyes with oval shapes while Adeleine has bigger, rounder eyes with white sclerae.
- However, Ado has rounder eyes with white sclerae in the credits.
- Adeleine is the first female Dream friend to be added to Kirby Star Allies; she would be followed by Susanna Patrya Haltmann in this regard.
- Yellow Gold from Rainbow Bubblegem is very similar to Adeleine, since they are both artists with the ability to animate what they draw.
