Blast-Attak

Blast-Attak is a fictional character from the popular toy line Masters of the Universe by Mattel. Blast-Attak was introduced into the Masters of the Universe toy line in 1987. His action figure, which was made of two separate halves, could be 'blasted apart' via a cord snapped into his back.

A member of the Evil Warriors and later the Snake Men, Blast-Attak is an android built as a walking time bomb. After a certain pre-set period of time, he will explode and cause immense damage to his surroundings, before reforming automatically.

Character history

Minicomics

Blast-Attak was introduced in the mini-comic Revenge of the Snake Men in which he is presented as a creation of King Hiss, and a minion of the Snake Men.

Marvel/Star Comics

He appears in the US Marvel Comics as a minion of Skeletor, with a different background, having been summoned from another dimension. In this incarnation, his most prominent characteristic is his reluctance to take orders and submit to authority; as Skeletor summons him and Ninjor, he addresses them as his slaves, upon which Blast-Attak furiously snaps back "Your what!? Blast-Attak is no one's slave!"

Masters of the Universe Revelation

Main article: Blast-Attak (Revelation)

In 2021, Blast-Attak made his first animated appearance in Masters Of The Universe: Revelation. During the aftermath of the magic's disappearance along with He-Man and Skeletor, he became one of Tri-Klops' minions in the cult of the Motherboard.

Behind the scenes

  • Blast-Attak's allegiance in the "Revenge of the Snake Men" minicomic is unusual, because Blast-Attak was packaged as one of Skeletor's minions and is not in any way snake-like. In the Classics line, his bio states, "Blast Attak was brought to Eternia in a spell of light by Skeletor to boost this ranks before the second Ultimate Battle Ground, but the android was quickly stolen by the Snake Men and reprogrammed to act as a mercenary in the army of King Hssss."
