A swan is a large species of waterfowl bird that is closely related to Ducks and Geese.[2] The swan is a known corporeal form of the Patronus Charm.[3][1] The Phoenix, a magical bird, was said to be the size of a swan.[4][5][6]
History
Talbott Winger's mother was an Animagus who took the form of a white swan. Tragically, she and her husband were killed by Death Eaters who identified and tracked them down through the Animagus Registry.[7]
During the 1990–1991 school year, Talbott Winger and Jacob's sibling noticed a mysterious Patronus in the form of a white swan navigating the wards at St Mungo's, cast by an unknown wizard.[8][9][10]
Cho Chang was capable of conjuring a fully corporeal Patronus in the form of a swan, which she was able to successfully conjure during a Dumbledore's Army's meeting in 1996 regarding the spell.[3]
