Scouthibou[1] was a brown owl belonging to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry that inhabited the Owlery in the mid-1990s.
History
In early 1995, Harry Potter sent Sirius Black a letter on the odd events at Hogwarts surrounding Severus Snape and Alastor Moody via this owl.[2]
Behind the scenes
- This owl is only named in the French translation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, by Jean-François Ménard. The owl remains unidentified in the original English version.
- The suffix "hibou" is French for "owl".
