Ham

Ham

Ham is pork that had been preserved through various processes, including salting, smoking, and dry curing. It is traditionally made from the hind leg of a pig, and, as such, the term ham also refers to this particular cut of meat.[1]

History

Parma ham was a thin-sliced, dry-cured variety of ham originating in Italy.[2] Panino Italia, a type of panino served at the Luchino Caffe, had parma ham as one of its ingredients.[3]
