A crisp (known as a potato chip in North America) is a thin slice of potato baked or fried until it becomes crunchy. They are a popular snack food.[1]
Black Cat Brand Potato Crisps was a brand of crisps sold in the United Kingdom.[2]
History
On 30 July 1991, Vernon Dursley got packets of crisps and bananas for his family and Harry Potter as rations.[3]
Crisps were among the snacks being served at an impromptu party held in the Gryffindor common room to celebrate Harry Potter being named a Hogwarts champion in the Triwizard Tournament.[4]
Harry Potter had a packet of crisps in his bedroom at 4 Privet Drive, which were among the things he hastily threw into his trunk when he saw Albus Dumbledore arriving to pick him up.[5]
