Cannes is a city which lies on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in southern France, a region known as the French Riviera.[1] In 1927, French wizarding newspaper Le Cri de la Gargouille reported three thousand coins found on a Niffler in Cannes.[2]
Behind the scenes
- J. K. Rowling had previously stated that Beauxbatons Academy of Magic was located near the city of Cannes.[3] Pottermore, however, retcons this, instead placing its location in the Pyrenees.[4]
