Wind Power Station 7 is a decommissioned wind power station on Zanzibar Island off the northeast coast of Tanzania on Earth. An ancient fortress is located just next to the power station.
History
In the late 25th-century, the East African Protectorate created a re-nationalization plan and built this facility.[1][2]
In the early 26th-century, the site was officially shut down. This site turned into training sites for Spartans.[3] This site and similar ones were then scanned to be turned into various war games map sets.[2]
Trivia
- Wind Power Station 7 is the location of the Halo 2 Multiplayer map Zanzibar, and its Halo 3 and Halo 2: Anniversary remakes, Last Resort and Zanzibar Anniversary respectively.
- The name of the place (Wind Power Station 7) is another reference to number 7.
- The fortress on the beach bears some resemblance to some sections of Fort Jesus, a 16th-century fortress in current-day Mombasa.[4]
