Singh was a UNSC Naval crewman who was assigned to UNSC Pillar of Autumn. He escaped in the escape pod Kilo Tango Victor 17 with some other crewmen, Marines and his commanding officer, Captain Keyes. He was the first to think that Ensign Ellen Dowski was a traitor, suggesting that she be shot.^[1] Dowski later told the Covenant where to find Singh and his fellow crewmen, resulting in all of their deaths except for Keyes.
