The Archer^[1] is an alien cut from Half-Life. It can be found in the game files.

Overview

The Archer's is the size of a trout. A fish-like creature, it was to be seen and encountered underwater.

Behavior and skills

According to its animations, it was to bite the player, and shoot from its mouth an unknown substance, possibly a toxic spit or water-based projectile, an attack also seen in the Bullsquid and Mr. Friendly, another cut creature.

Trivia

• Its name is most likely based on that of the Archerfish, as they share similar behaviors.
• They resemble Earth invertebrates like Shrimp and Anomalocaris, an extinct genus of marine arthropod from the Cambrian.
