Pedro (Japanese: ペドロ Pedoro) is the roommate of Hinata at his apartment in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the time of his introduction, he is a college student.
Appearance
Pedro seems to be of average height and build. He has black, spiky hair that sticks straight up, similar colored eyes, and thick eyebrows. He tends to have a neutral expression on his face.
Personality
Pedro seems to be somewhat reserved and low energy, contrasting with the outgoing enthusiasm of his roommate, Hinata. He was shown with earbuds in, paying little attention to Hinata when they initially met. Later on, Hinata is shown waking Pedro up, telling him he would be late for school, but Pedro chooses to sleep in. The two have gotten close since, connecting through their shared love of Shonen Jump series.
Plot
Pedro is first introduced as Hinata's roommate after the time skip when Hinata traveled to Brazil. He is initially distant toward Hinata when they first met and for a short time afterwards. Pedro often ignored Hinata and didn't really spend any time with him, but this drastically changed when it's discovered they share a fondness of the One Piece manga series. They discuss their favorite characters and then proceed to watch several other anime series Pedro has saved on tape.[1]
Over time, Pedro helps Hinata learn Portuguese. It would be during Hinata's final round in the Solcard Cup tournament that Pedro would finally watch Hinata play beach volleyball and is taken back by his skills. As Hinata is preparing to return to Japan, Pedro is among those present to say good-bye. He cries as he bids Hinata farewell while promising that he will watch all of Hinata's matches online before requesting an autograph from Kodzuken. As promised, Pedro watches Hinata's debut match on the MSBY Black Jackals where he continues to see Hinata as a ninja through his plays.

Shōyō Hinata
- Hinata became Pedro's roommate when he moved from Japan to Brazil. Although Hinata was friendly and wanting to become friends, Pedro kept his distance from Hinata in the beginning. He tended to ignore Hinata as he would rather read manga and listen to his music. However, Pedro quickly changed his behavior toward Hinata when they discovered they both are great fans of One Piece. Since then, Pedro became good friends with Hinata and helped him improve his Portuguese. When Hinata eventually returned to Japan, Pedro hugged Hinata while crying and promising to watch all of his matches.

- In Volume 42 Chapter 373, Pedro is seen reading the North American version of the One Piece manga instead of the Brazilian edition.
- Pedro is great in Japanese, according to Hinata.
- His favorite character in One Piece is Luffy.
- In an extra page to Volume 42 Chapter 373, Pedro is shown to have been excited to have a Japanese roommate but didn't expect Hinata to be the outgoing type. Still, he decided to learn Japanese in case they were able to become friends.
- Pedro is the one who helped Hinata write the message in the notebook that Hinata shows to Heitor Santana.[2]
