Bosch is a character in the manga Mobile Suit Gundam F90. He would appear in the prequel manga Mobile Suit Gundam F90: Fastest Formula, where his full name was stated to be Bosch Weller (ボッシュ・ウェラー Bosshu Uerā?).

History

Bosch is a lieutenant in the Earth Federation Forces and the commander of the 13th Experimental Corps, which was responsible for testing SNRI's two F90 Gundam F90s aboard the Admiral Tianem. He is a friendly and considerate person, and actively communicates with his subordinates Def Stallion and Sid Amber.

In the past, during Char's Rebellion, he was a mobile suit pilot for the Federation Forces, piloting a GM III and taking on the Neo Zeon's "German head" mobile suits, as he called them. He also flew to Axis to support Londo Bell, and helped to push back the falling asteroid with Amuro Ray's ν Gundam, which is one of his life's proudest achievements, and Sid seems to have been told this story often. But after witnessing the light of the Axis Shock, and the seeing the power to defy all of the known laws of physics, something became twisted inside him and Bosch became obsessed with the power of the Gundam and sought to obtain "the power of the devil" for himself. In order to do so, he begins to communicate in secret with Zeon remnants outside the Earth, the Mars Independence Zeon Army, also known as the Oldsmobile.

During a routine test of the Gundam F90s, Unit 2 was successfully captured by Mars Zeon and Bosch was one step closer to finally making the "power of the devil" his own personal property. In response to the incident, the Federation reorganized the 13th Experimental Corps into the 13th Independent Mobile Fleet and ordered them to head to Mars, to recover the F90 and destroy the Zeon remnants. En route to Mars, Bosch leaked the location of the fleet to Mars Zeon, allowing them to hit the flagship, Admiral Tianem, with an orbital mine. While the actual damage caused by the mine was negligible, it delayed the 13th Fleet's flight schedule, meaning that they would not be able to meet the unmanned supply ships as planned on the return trip. It was at this point that Navi realized that there was a traitor onboard, since the chances of being hit by a single stray mine was, she calculates, 1 in 256 trillion.

When the 13th Fleet finally arrived at Mars, it quickly came under attack by Mars Zeon forces while staging for the descent operation. At this point, Bosch finally revealed his true nature and took over the Admiral Tianem's bridge with a group of Mars Zeon soldiers. Bosch ordered the Admiral Tianem to fire on the other ships in the fleet, destroying two of them. However, one of the sunk ships crashes into Phobos, sending rock fragments everywhere. With the situation in space descending into chaos, Bosch and his men escaped to Mars using the ship's escape shuttles.

Inside the Olympus Base, on Mars, Bosch revealed himself to Navi, who had been taken captive after descending to the surface with Def and Sid, before boarding the OMS-90R Gundam F90, a modified version of the captured F90 Unit 2. Using the modified Gundam, he destroyed Sid's Geara Doga Kai before confronting Def in his Full Equipment F90. During the battle, he explained his own motives and told Def that everything he thought he accomplished with his own skills was actually the work of his F90's A.R. pseudo-personality computer.

During the battle, Bosch destroyed the head of Def's F90. However, Def, in a move mirroring the final fate of the RX-78-2 Gundam, lifted up his beam rifle and destroyed the Mars Zeon F90 with a single shot, instantly killing Bosch.
