A keyhole is a tiny wormhole in space, allowing instantaneous travel over vast distances, but only permitting signals or small matter to travel through. The Goo was originally designed to travel through keyholes as unformed mass, form into useful vehicles and sensors on the other side, and transmit data back through the keyhole.
