Spirits are a species found in Grand Chase and its sequel Grand Chase Dimensional Chaser. Spirits originate from the Spirit World and are non-mortal beings; they are not bound by destiny and are unable to reincarnate.
Dragons are at the top of the hierarchy of the Spirit World. As spirits evolve into greater spirits, they gradually assume a dragon's form and eventually become a dragon. Not all spirits are born as dragons, with those that are being considered supreme spirits.
