Latis is one of the planets in the Metalion Solar System. It is the home world of Lord British.
History
In 6709, Latis was attacked and transformed into an organic fortress by the Bacterians, but thanks to Lord British and Vic Viper, a spacecraft from Gradius, Latis was free again. In 6842, a huge creature named "Life Force" tried to eat Latis and Gradius, but Vic Viper and Lord British defeated the beast from the inside and Gradius and Latis were once again safe. Latis was once attacked again by the Bacterians under the leadership of Doom, but thanks to the Vic Viper and Super Cobra, they managed to destroy the threat and peace was maintained.
Centuries later, the Salamander Force began to regain their strength and invaded Latis once again, without any assistance of Gradius. The Imperial Princess of Latis was forced to take flight with the new and upgraded Lord British MK III to fight off the Salamander Force once again.
