Stephen Lee Bruner (b. 19 October 1984) better known by his stage name Thundercat is an American bassist, singer, songwriter and actor from Los Angeles, United States.
Role in Gorillaz
Thundercat provided bass and vocals for the 2022 Gorillaz single Cracker Island and appeared in its music video.
Career
Thundercat first came to prominence as a member of crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies. He created four solo studio albums and one EP since 2011. In 2016, Thundercat won a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Performance for his work on the track These Walls from To Pimp a Butterfly. In 2020, Thundercat released his fourth studio album titled It Is What It Is, which earned him a Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album.
He made his acting debut in the episode 4 of the Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett as the Mod Artist.
