- Godzilla continues to rest after the Anti-Nuclear Energy Bacteria sends him into hibernation. Godzilla is thought to eventually be erased from time when the Futurians move a Godzillasaurus from Lagos Island to the Bering Sea in the past, but the Futurians actually only write history as it already was, with Godzilla being created by a nuclear submarine crash.

- Rodan is discovered hibernating in a volcano on Isla de Mara. A covert Monarch team establishes a quarantine zone around the island's dormant volcano, under the guise of "environmental research". Over the coming years, what began as a small scientific outpost would develop into a full containment facility positioned around the mouth of the volcano. (Godzilla: King of the Monsters)
