The Kelpie are water spirits in the form of horses which are relatives of the fey.

Mythology

A Kelpie, or Water kelpie. are spirits that inhabit lochs in Scottish lore. They usually take on the form of a black horse-like creature, which can take on human form. According to some accounts, they state that the kelpie retain their hooves while as humans.

In God of War Ragnarök

The Norse deities known as Norns acquired and raised a Kelpie despite coming from distant lands. Seeking answers from the Norns, Kratos Mimir and Freya find a kelpie, which took them to where the Norns live.

Powers & Abilities

Hydrokinesis: Being water spirits, the Kelpie have some control over water.

Shapeshifting: Kelpie can change their appearance, sometimes they disguise themselves as normal horses, other times as people, their true form is that of a supernatural being with the appearance of an aqua-blue horse with algae coming out of its body.

Super Speed: Kelpies are incredibly fast creatures both on land and in water.

  • Kelpie is the Norse counterpart of the Hippocampi, they're both water horses.
  • Kelpie is one of few creature does not originate from the Norse Myth instead from Irish Mythos.
    • Also doesn't appeared as an enemy instead Kelpie's role as guide to where the Norns live, unlike those dangerous creatures in Irish Myths like Wulver, and Banshee.
