Wyvern Hill

Wyvern Hill is a craggy outcropping on the west coast of Scotland.

History

A gargoyle clan lived here for centuries[1], with only minimal encounters with humans, before a large group, led by Prince Malcolm, arrived in 971. They formed an alliance[2] and Castle Wyvern was built atop the hill.[3]

The Wyvern Clan lived here from an unknown point in time, until 994, when Castle Wyvern was sacked by Vikings.[1]

  • According to Greg Weisman, the hill was near the Point of Ardnamurchan some 83 miles from Castle Urquhart on Loch Ness.[4]
