Eximion is a Dutch company that builds browser-based 3D games and applications that run on their in-house game engine. They are also the creators of the online platform called Kalydo, on which they distribute their games and applications.
History
After receiving a major investment in 2006, Eximion began work on their in-house game engine and their first browser-based game called Adrenaline Rush.
In Februari 2007, Adrenaline Rush was publicly launched on the Eximion web-site and was later released under the name Konstrukt Invasion.[1]
In June 2008, Eximion went into a closed Beta phase of the Kalydo Platform along with several games including Konstrukt Invasion.
In 2009, Eximions' in-house game engine was released to the public for free along with a community web-site.[2]
Games
Cube Kingdom is a puzzle game in which puzzles are to be solved in three dimensions. The game offers players the ability to customize their characters and has 88 levels that take place in all four seasons: winter, summer, spring and fall. In each level a new element is added to game, ranging from teleporters to magnetic tiles.[3][4]
GoofBall360 is an action game in which the player is a character from the Nauticz setting, an IP of underwater sea creatures designed to be most appealing to young children. In each level the player is surrounded by differently colored squids. The goal of the game is to hit as many squids as possible with a ball. In each level a new item is added, improving the way squids can be hit. Use of combinations of items adds an extra level of game play. The game has 15 levels that take place in three regions Arctic, Jungle and Voodoo.[5]
Konstrukt Invasion is an action/adventure FPS game in which the player takes the role of a "Konstrukt", one of the three alien races at war in the Septennia setting, an IP designed to be most appealing to a more hard core type of players. The other two races are called the "Aylante" and the "Neelid". As the Konstrukt soldier you are clearing out the Aylante forest of hostile creatures. During the game different quests are given ranging from a "sonar" mission to a "kill X many creatures" mission. The game has 25 levels all of which take place in the Aylante forest.[6]
MojoDrift is an underwater race game in which the player again is a character from the Nauticz setting and can also race 9 tracks in three regions Arctic, Jungle and Voodoo. The player can choose which Nauticz character to play with. During a race one can obtain items to throw with and "Mojo" which allows the player to use a short boost in speed.[7]
Robo Rescue is a puzzle/action game in which the player is a robot ball. The player can roll through the level, customize their character, and during the game several different items can be obtained that help in solving a specific puzzle. The game has 33 levels in two regions Clouds and Factory.[8]
Oggo's Odyssey: Amulet of Heroes is another game that takes place in the Nauticz setting. The player now takes the role of "Oggo", a young fish ready to go on an adventure. The player can only roll into two directions and can sometimes perform a small boost forward. The goal is to get as many treasure as possible. Extra game play elements are added by collecting pieces of an amulet that opens extra content and by performing timed stunts to receive extra score. The game takes place in three regions Arctic, Jungle and Voodoo and contains 48 levels.[9]
Mahjong Mountain is remake of the well known Chinese game Mahjong. It takes place in the Cube setting on a mountain with 5 regions containing 25 levels in total. There is a special island on which achievements can be viewed.
Robo Brix is remake of the well known game Breakout. It takes place in the Robo Rescue setting and is played in 360 degrees of freedom. Items can be obtained that add an extra level of game play. The game consists of 40 level in three regions Clouds, Factory and Space.
Goof Bubbles is remake of a Bubbles game, in which the player has to make rows of equally colored squids by throwing a squid. It takes place in the Nauticz setting and has 36 levels.
