The Dreamcast is the fifth home video game console released by Sega.
History
The Dreamcast was released by Sega on November 27, 1998 in Japan, on September 9, 1999 in North America, on October 14, 1999 in Europe, and on November 30, 1999 in Australia, succeeding the Sega Saturn. It was the first sixth-generation video game console to be released, and thus experienced success in the short time after its launch. However, it dropped in sales after Nintendo's GameCube, Sony's PlayStation 2, and Microsoft's Xbox were released.
Due to financial troubles, Sega discontinued the Dreamcast in 2001, and ultimately stopped manufacturing their own video game consoles.
On Game Grumps
The Dreamcast is the first Sega console the Game Grumps have played on the show.
