Galaxias is the oneshot of which the Galaxias manga series. GALAXIAS is the winner of the 108th Rookie Manga Award. The oneshot was published in Weekly Shonen Magazine 2022 Issue 30 and on Magazine Pocket.

Summary
We're introduced to Neraid and Neil Twice. As they talk about how dragons have ravaged the lands over the past hundred years, and how they were able to slay one (the skull dragon to be specific) with specialized cannon shells. Neil try's to convince Neraid to become his assistance, but Neraid gives him the cold shoulder and walks off.
Neraid is heading back to his lighthouse while pondering on how a dragon had killed his family. He stumbles across the carcass of a dragon, but as Neraid is trying to understand what happened, the dragon breaks open. And out comes a girl with a dragon's tail.
Neraid brings the girl into the lighthouse. Neraid is questioning why he brought the girl back with him. He tells the girl that the lighthouse is a Marine Transportation Agency's Signal Station, and that it's his job to play the foghorn to guide every one straight back to their homes.
The next day they visit Neil. The girl is growing a scale out of her chest. Its explained that dragons have a "Ultra scale". It acts as the power source for the dragon, it can also use this energy to fuel that dragons special ability, but once the ultra scale is destroyed, the dragon dies do to insufficient energy (think of it as a candle that generates energy). Neil speculates that when the girl became human, it sacrificed its larger form right before death, and transformed into a smaller form.
Neil names the girl Jio, he also forces Neraid to look after Jio, as if his little sister, because he's been to relaxed since his family dies. Neil is using the opportunity to do an experiment, to prove love can save the world. Jio comments on the trumpet telling her where "Neroid's" home is. Neraid try's to teach Jio how to collect scrap metal. Throughout the day Jio is making a ruckus, when she questions if her and Neraid are friends, he rushes her home.
the armada which had defeated the skull dragon, are returning. Neriad and Jio are at his parents graves, at Neraid tells Jio about how his father died 5 years ago, and that he was a college professor and Neil was his student. now Neil is looking after him. Neraid questions why he brought Jio to this place. he states that it was so hot, and it must've hurt, whilst also stating the names, Lamina and Yerkes (most likely his parents). He then states that he hates dragons, and that he wants his family back. He interrupts Jio trying to eat the flowers from a memorial sight. Then Jio asks if Neraid would be happier if Jio was gone.
right then and there a Dragon appears, the armada dose there best to fight it, but its attacks seem to be hitting a sort of force field. Neraid freaks out, yelling at the dragon on why is it doing this, why cant we live in peace. Jio comes up and tells Neraid to not be sad, and to talk to her again, before saying goodbye.
Jio runs up and transforms into a dragon, attacking the other one, the humans are in shock. Twice comes up behinded Neraid, Jio is hit by a devastating blow. Twice tells Neraid to head to the evacuation site, as they are about to drop an atomic bomb. not wanting Jio to end up in the cross fire range, Neraid rushes toward the lighthouse. as some army man cheer on Jio, Jio however is thinking of how she and Neraid can never be friends, how she's been a bad dragon, and how she'll do a goo thing.
as the dragon is prepping up a blast to finish Jio, Neraid sounds the foghorn, and yells to Jio. He says how he's angry, Jio showed up and has been ruining his life, and all she said was goodbye. Giving Jio enough power to get up and pulverise the Dragon. Jio runs towards the light house, every one is scared that it'll destroy it. But the foghorn leads everyone back home, and Jio ran to hers. Half a year later Neraid quits the job at the lighthouse, and is now studying with Twice on anti-Dragon technology.
