Brave Eagle was an Indian War Chief during the Rocky Mountain War. Sobel does not mention which tribe he was from.

During the Second Battle of Williams Pass, Brave Eagle's warriors served as auxiliaries alongside a regiment of the Mexican Army commanded by Colonel Miguel Fernandez. Between them, Brave Eagle and Fernandez were able to defeat a North American force led by General Herkimer Ware that was attempting to force its way through Williams Pass into California.

Brave Eagle does not have an entry in Sobel's index. He is mentioned on page 137 of For Want of a Nail ....
