Liam

Liam was an Araluen Ranger. After he began investigating disappearances orchestrated by Jory Ruhl, Jory arranged to have him killed.

Description

He had a stocky build and a mass of untidy, floppy red hair.[4]

Liam was one of the brightest younger Rangers at the time of his death.[5]

History

The Kings of Clonmel

Will Treaty 11

Crowley asked Will to give Liam, along with two other first-year ranger’s apprentices, Stuart, and Nick, some training during the annual Ranger Gathering.

The three trainees looked up to Will, due to his exploits and the fact he was only a few years older than them. When Liam and the other two were assigned a tactical exercise (which involved a scenario similar to what Will experienced at the Battle of Macindaw) they all copied exactly what Will had done, and thus defeated the point of the exercise. Flustered, Will corrected the boys and showed them how to use what was on hand in a bad situation. Will also coached them in archery, tightening up their technique.

A New Beginning

Years before, Liam had become a fully-fledged ranger with a fief of his own, Trelleth fief.[6] Will had been present for his graduation ceremony.[7] Gilan approached Will and Madelyn with news that he had fallen from his horse and broken his neck.[3] He suspected murder, and wanted them to investigate.[8]

His suspicions were later proven correct when Will and Madelyn discovered it had been caused when Acorn, Liam's horse, ran into a tripwire trap.
