Crandall is the son of Horald the Finger, a Wesport criminal lord.

Crandall visits Shevedieh's smoke-house and threatens her into steal something for him. She agrees but fails in the mission. So Crandall decides to destroy her business, but a fight ensues during which he's killed. Afterwards, Shevedieh runs away out of fear his father will seek revenge on her.
Years later Shevedieh meets with his father who forgives her for killing his son, explaining that that he didn't cared that much about his son as he was the most useless of all his sons.
