Japan

Japan is a country in Asia and home to a number of video game companies, including Nintendo and Intelligent Systems, the creators and developers of the Fire Emblem series. The first six Fire Emblem titles, as well as New Mystery of the Emblem, were released only in Japan.

Though the Fire Emblem series predominantly takes place in settings inspired by medieval Europe, cultural influences of Japan are reflected in a variety of minor elements across entries in the series, such as the appearances of certain classes or weapons. The nation of Hoshido in Fire Emblem Fates is more specifically and directly inspired by feudal-era Japan.

The crossover spin-off Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE is set in a fictional version of the modern city of Tokyo, Japan.
