In-Game Description |
The SVD returns in Far Cry 5 but can only be obtained through the ownship of the Hours of Darkness expansion. It is notably used by the North Vietnamese Army as well as the Viet Cong. Two variants of this weapon can be found scattered throughout the game; one of them being equipped with a silencer and a long range scope.
Campaign
While originally not present in the main game, the Dragunov is automatically unlocked once the Hours of Darkness expansion is installed. It is worth noticing that besides the main protagonist, nobody else uses this weapon.

Trivia
- After being added to Far Cry 5, putting a suppressor on the SVD removes any sound the weapon makes during firing, as it does not have a suppressed firing sound.[1]
- This was fixed by the release of the Lost On Mars expansion.[2]
