Steve Armstrong is found dead at Vault 101's entrance during Trouble on the Homefront in Fallout 3.
Background
Steve was adopted by Stanley Armstrong and his unmarried daughter, Beatrice. He was given his foster parents' surname and spent most of his youth sick, and the Lone Wanderer knew him mostly by conversations with Stanley. Steve survived into adulthood, just in time to see James and the Wanderer flee Vault 101. Caught up in the upheaval that followed their departure, Steve apparently tried to sneak out on his own, using a pilfered Stealth Boy, but ran into a radroach on his way out, ending his life prematurely.[Non-game 1]
