The Memory lounger is a world object in Fallout 4.
Background
Memory loungers are the tool the Memory Den uses to provide its clients with the ability to relive their memories, which are transmitted between their brains and loungers' computers.[1] The exact origin of the loungers is unknown, and something Irma wants to keep a secret,[2] but the only person who has the years of neural physiology knowledge required to understand their technology is Dr. Amari.[3]
Characteristics
The lounger consists of a large glass pod with a soft chair inside for its user. A television screen drops down when the pod is closed to display images.
Location
The Memory loungers are found in the Memory Den, in Goodneighbor.
Notes
Memory loungers are similar in shape and function to the Tranquility lounger or Visiontron used in Vault 112 in Fallout 3 and during the Operation: Anchorage add-on.
Appearances
Memory loungers appear only in Fallout 4 and are mentioned in the Fallout 76 update Steel Reign.[4]

Dr. Amari: "Oh? I'm not a mechanic. What could she possibly want from me?"
Curie: "Oh, this Doctor can help me? Greetings, Doctor. I wish to download my data and core programming into a human brain."
Dr. Amari: "You... you want to what? Is she serious?"
The Sole Survivor: "Curie has a lot of Pre-War research data, but she can't continue her important research as a robot."
Dr. Amari: "Why not?"
Curie: "I was programmed to further our studies of disease, pathogens, and viruses. I cannot do this with the fundamental limitations of my robotic systems. If I become human, with the wealth of information in my databanks I hope to do much good for the Commonwealth."
Dr. Amari: "A Pre-War robot with your knowledge and skills plus human cognition. Yes, you could potentially save many lives. It's an... interesting problem. The memories wouldn't be hard. We translate those from the brain to computers and back all the time here. It's how the Loungers work. Her personality, though? All the extra pieces of robotic, programmed decision making? A normal, organic brain wouldn't know what to do with them. A synth brain, on the other hand... Well, it's already somewhere between the two..."

(Irma's dialogue) - ↑ Dr. Amari: "Don't bother asking me about how the Memory Loungers work. I don't have time to teach the years of neural physiology it would take to understand."

Herschel Klein: "Here's one I heard: we're all just living in a simulation. That's right: none of this is real. Die here and you'll just wake up in a memory lounger somewhere in Hoboken, New Jersey. To be honest, I'm not sure which reality is worse! Heyo, I'm here all week."
