Geri is a dog residing in the Calvert Mansion in Point Lookout, acting as a companion of the ghoul Desmond Lockheart. He appears in the Fallout 3 add-on Point Lookout.
Background
For years, Desmond has had Geri and his other dog Freki, eventually training them to be his attack dogs. Geri was the abused ward of a group of raiders before being saved by Desmond, who later tracked down the raiders and fed them alive to mole rats.[Non-game 1] Geri and Freki's loyalty and obedience have earned them both the rare honor of being among the few that Desmond trusts and cares about in the post-nuclear world.[Non-game 2]
At one point, the dogs chased off Nadine after she wandered too close to the mansion grounds, causing her to stay away when the Point Lookout tribals' latest assault commenced shortly before the Lone Wanderer's arrival on the Duchess Gambit.[1]
Daily schedule
Along with Freki, Geri patrols the foyer and stairs of the mansion.

Effects of player's actions
- The Local Flavor: The dogs appear assisting in fighting against the tribals invading the mansion.
- Thought Control: After meeting with Desmond following the destruction of Calvert Mansion, he states that Freki and Geri were caught in the blast and killed.[2]
Notes
- Geri is the same breed as the scavenger's dogs and Dogmeat.
- The game files reveal that Geri actually has Neutral Karma whereas Freki has Evil Karma, as well as Freki being level 3 compared to Geri's level 1.
Appearances
Geri appears only in the Fallout 3 add-on Point Lookout.
Behind the scenes
- The names of Freki and Geri are a reference to Norse mythology. The Norse god Odin was often portrayed as having two wolf companions named Freki and Geri. Geri translates to "ravenous" while Freki roughly translates to "greedy."

- At some point during development, it was intended that Desmond would offer Geri as a companion, similar to Dogmeat. It is unclear how far this idea progressed during development, but certain resources still exist in the add-on to go with this intended feature. In particular, certain script variables still refer to this option (such as the variable "DogFriend") and Geri is set to use some (but not all) of Dogmeat's dialogue options pertaining to "adopting" him, as well as an AI package titled DLC04DesmondDogPlayerPackage, though the package is only set to ensure Geri stays in the mansion.

Nadine: "Woah, woah, woah! That was all Jackson's crazy idea. I knew better than to volunteer for that suicide mission! Last time I wandered too close to that mansion, some old ghoul sicced his dogs on me. Screw that!"

ME? Well, this ends today. Desmond Lockheart will finally win out. I know where he is. He overplayed his hand this time. You and me are going to walk in there and end this."
