Marshall, the Knight is one of the playable heroes in Fable Fortune.

In-Game Short Description

One-time pig farmer turned sworn protector of the realm. Noble, forthright, and a master of the pitchfork. Marshall serves as an inspiration to peasants and porcine enthusiasts across Albion.

In-Game Long Description

The thing about Marshall is that he's definitely a knight. He's got the paperwork to prove it.

After he built a moat around his farm and erected banners above the chicken coop, fancy lawmen dragged him into town and spent days trying to disprove his claim.

Finally, exhausted and awfully upset, they had to give up. So Marshall returned to the countryside as sworn protector of the realm-a pig-farmer in shining armour. His sworn duty: to keep the peace, uphold the law, and show those big city nobles what he's really capable of...

Marshall's Heroic Tale

Chapter 1: The Knight Watchman

As a sworn protector of the realm, it's Marshall's duty to attend to the needs of the people. And he gets his chance, when a crowd of peasants come to see him with their problem.

‘There's a bloody great bear that keeps attacking the village! Only last week it carried off my brother’, fumes one of the men. 'And the Sheriff said he's too busy to help’.

Marshall thought for a moment. Then he got to his feet and grabbed his pitchfork.

‘Follow me, all of yeh' he cried. ‘If the Sheriff won't help, we'll do it ourselves!’

Chapter 2: Opposing Force

Back in the village, Marshall and the peasants celebrate their victory with cider and song.

Then the Sheriff's voice booms out across the crowd: 'So! Raising an army? Very naughty:'

He shoves his way through the crowd and squares up to Marshall. 'But Logan pays me to keep things quiet around here’, he says, 'so ľ'm afraid I'm going to have to break up this little party of yours - by force’.

The Sheriff's men step forward, bearing clubs and swords. This could get ugly..

Chapter 3: Peasants Revolt

The Sheriff and his men flee in defeat, but not everyone in Marshall's fighting force is pleased with the result, and a field-worker speaks out.

'Are you all mad?! This is treason - Logan will have all of us in irons before the day's out!'

A frantic murmur passes through the crowd. Could he be right? Marshall tries to calm them, but the sense of fear has already taken hold. The field-worker suggests replacing ‘Mad Marshall' with a less radical leader. Like himself, perhaps.?

Chapter 4: Prophet And Loss

Marshall fights bravely, but a deep schism divides his once-proud army. Gathering his remaining supporters, he leaves the village in search of a way to prove himself. Several days later, wandering Albion, he comes across a strange old man with a gnarled staff.

‘You ought to be careful on these 'ere roads’, Marshall warns the wizened prophet. 'Bandits'll rob you blind’.

The old man smiles. ‘Do not let your eyes deceive you, my friend. My belief gives me strength. It seems there is much you have yet to learn if you wish to unite your people’.

Chapter 5: Dead On Arrival

After witnessing the prophet's powerful resolve, Marshall rallies his men and heads back to the village to unite the peasants under one banner. But as they approach, they see pillars of smoke rising above the horizon.

In their absence, some troublemaking necromancer rolled into town and started raising hell. Now the Sheriff and his men are attempting to repel an army of the undead before they overrun the village. It's not going well.

‘Don't just stand there, Marshall' pleads the Sheriff. 'Help us’

Chapter 6: Royal Rumble

Grateful to be still in one piece, the Sheriff is keen to make amends to Marshall. ‘It was Logan, he says. He paid us to get tough on you and your men. No hard feelings?’

Marshall grunts. There’ll be a time to put this fool in his place, but right now our plucky knight has other ideas. He heads out to the castle to confront Logan, the tyrannical royal.

Barging into the throne room, he bellows: ‘The villagers are united behind me, Logan. Yer reign is over! You can't beat us all.'

‘So, the knight errant returns!' Logan sneers. ‘I thought the Sheriff had taken care of you, but it seems I’ll have to do it myself.’ He waves a command. ‘Guards - kill him'
