Season 4

Plot: In the Season 4 premiere, Lucious makes his first public appearance since the explosion in Las Vegas to help celebrate Empire's 20th anniversary, but still has no memory of his family, Empire or his life before the accident. A devastated Cookie struggles to rebuild her relationship with him, while keeping a close eye on his nurse. Meanwhile, Andre is faced with an investigation by the LAPD; Diana DuBois continues her war against the Lyons; and Carlotta comes face-to-face with Cookie and Lucious.

Plot: With Leah still insisting that he is a monster, Lucious sneaks away in hopes of finding out what type of person he was before the explosion. Cookie panics that Lucious has gone missing on Claudia's watch, until she realizes he found his way to Uncle Eddie, a music icon who has since become family to the Lyons. Meanwhile, with Anika still behind bars, Hakeem and Tiana grow more comfortable as a family, and Becky makes a rash decision regarding Jamal's new song.

Plot: Cookie reminisces over her years in prison when her line of credit is declined. She also begins to compare her past struggles to her life now. After Leah insists that he is a monster, Lucious struggles with his demons and pleads for his family to tell him how he wronged them in the past, but they are reluctant to tell him the truth. The LAPD is still on Andre's case about the events in Vegas, including Giuliana's disappearance, and Cookie encounters Diana at a magazine photoshoot.

Plot: With Bella's upcoming birthday just around the corner, the family plans a special princes and princesses-themed party, including a special Prince tribute, but the events bring back haunting memories for Andre as he remembers his wife, Rhonda died on the same day; all of Empire's top label artists compete for the 20-for-20's number one album, which causes a new idea for Jamal for a new song; Lucious suddenly finds himself at a crossroads and tries to put the rest of his anger from his past life; Also, with the help from Angelo, Anika files custody for Bella.

Plot:  When a news report on TMZ circles upon Lucious's memory, possibly faking the injury, Cookie attempts to convince the board that he is fine, so she invites the press to watch him produce the first 20-for-20 album; Eddie Barker steps in to help Lucious get his mojo back at making music; worried about Bella being taken away from him and his involvement with the DuBois' clan, Hakeem plans a getaway trip to Cuba and takes Bella with him, but it soon backfires in his face; the relationship between Andre and Detective Pamela Rose heats up. Also, she reveals information that has been secretly uncovered regarding the explosion; Claudia helps Lucious with a breakthrough; and in the final moment Lucious begins to remember everything and finally got his memory back while telling Claudia to leave the house

Plot:  As the family prepares for the custody battle between Hakeem and Anika for Bella, the Lyons stand united in a support system for Hakeem; Hakeem gets upset at Tiana and blames her for running to Cookie about the Cuba trip and they end up breaking up; Andre sees a new therapist; Jamal thinks about introducing Warren to Lucious; Becky's old flame, J. Poppa, returns to Empire to record an album and rekindle a relationship with Becky; and Diana returns from a trip and dark secrets are revealed upon her return, making Hakeem look bad at the trial and granting Anika full custody of Bella.

Plot:  After dealing with the aftermath of Hakeem and Anika's custody battle, Empire's 20-for-20 production is in jeopardy, when Portia and Calvin go on strike when they are feeling unappreciated and overworked when Eddie Barker begins working as their new producer and Cookie must find a solution; Hakeem must find a way to get Bella back with the help of Thirsty; Lucious attempts to arrange a deal with Anika on Hakeem's behalf; just when Jamal feels like his relationship with Warren is getting real, Warren's true colors are shown when the Lyons seen him at dinner with Diana and they plot for revenge.

Plot:  As they watch Diana DuBois' master scheme unfold, Cookie and Lucious take action matters in their own hands to protect their family. Meanwhile, Andre begins to spiral out of control, wondering what she could have in store for him; Jamal's sobriety is put to the test and Shine gives Hakeem advice on how to maintain a balance between his work and personal life; in the end, Andre's love life with Pamela turned out to be imaginary due the prescription pills by the therapist that Diana hired.

Plot: After Andre winds up in the hospital over his psychotic breakdown, Lucious vows to get revenge on the DuBois' for once and for all. He hatches a plan that involves forcing Angelo to sign a written confession about Diana's actions. The Lyons then break into the Governor's Ball and Cookie gets on stage exposing the truth about Diana, with help from Warren. As Diana continues to try to get the police and Cookie continues to tell the guests about her actions, the police end up arresting Diana for kidnapping Bella, which forces Anika to give Bella back to Hakeem. Angelo attempts to kill Warren for betrayal and shoots him in the shoulder, but Jamal intervenes and in a struggle, mortally wounds Angelo. Lucious then visits Andre to tell him the news, but Andre confesses in his sleep that he set the car bomb. Lucious is then drugged immediately after and kidnapped by Claudia, who has become obsessed with him.

Plot: Nurse Claudia takes her job to a new level, when she kidnaps Lucious. To find him, Cookie must race against time and use the skills she learned in prison to rescue him. Meanwhile, Andre, Jamal and Hakeem pick up the pieces from their battle with the Dubois family.

Plot:  On the brink of a lucrative tech deal, Eddie realizes that he must work on rebranding Empire. Cookie springs into action when a girl group from the past re-unites and threatens to expose secrets about Empire and Lucious. Meanwhile, Hakeem makes a major move with Tiana, Andre continues to struggle with his guilt and Becky is faced with a difficult situation.

Plot:  Lyon health scare shakes up Empire, as Cookie holds down the fort, in spite of it all. Both Andre and Jamal try to right their wrongs, and Jamal makes a shocking revelation on live TV with Robin Roberts. Eager to take Empire to new heights, Eddie's motives are questioned when numbers don't add up. Meanwhile, Hakeem and Tiana find common ground and Becky reveals the secret she's been keeping from J. Poppa.

Plot:  Although Lucious pressures Cookie to take it easy, she can't help but take matters into her own hands when she receives unsettling news about an old friend. Meanwhile, Tiana's new 20 for 20 single takes off, leading to an unexpected change in her demeanor. Also, Jamal struggles to rebrand his image, Hakeem adopts a new role as musical mentor and Andre recruits Lucious to help him uncover the truth about Eddie's intentions.

Plot:  Lucious and Thirsty try to squash Eddie's takeover by confronting him with legal papers. Cookie recalls her complex relationship with her mother, while she continues her search for her friend's orphaned daughter. Meanwhile, Andre flounders, Hakeem anxiously prepares a release strategy for his 20 for 20 single and Jamal and Tory try to find a new team to make their own first non-Empire single.

Plot: As Eddie fights for his place at Empire Entertainment and gets the board on his side, Lucious and Shine must find a permanent solution to keep him out. Meanwhile, Cookie is desperate to fulfill a promise to a friend before it's too late. She luckily gets Maya to finally visit Poundcake right before she dies from cancer. Then, when tensions rise in Jamal and Tory's new band, Preacher Azal inspires Jamal with an idea to get everyone in sync. Thirsty finds out that Shine had Giuliana killed to cover up the fact that he committed the explosion. Lucious lures Shine into a trap, thinking that they are going to take out Eddie, but is confronted by Lucious and shot to death by Webb.

Plot: When Cookie finally visits her mother, the two must confront their complicated past. Meanwhile, Lucious and Eddie continue their fight over Empire and Eddie makes a power play at the grand opening of Empire's 20 for 20 showcase. Then, Jamal and his band anonymously release their latest single and Hakeem tests out a career in film.

Plot: Cookie and Lucious fight to keep Empire in the family, as they prepare a livestream concert to crowdfund the amount needed to trump Eddie's plans. Meanwhile, the success of Jamal's new anonymous group climbs, Hakeem brings Haven to the showcase to make Tiana jealous, and Andre is put to the test and must decide between the family or his career.

Plot: As the Empire ownership bid presentation nears, Lucious must make a difficult decision to save the future of the company and his family, while Eddie shows no signs of backing down. However, Cookie reveals a potential upper hand in the power play for Empire, after doing a little digging into her past. Meanwhile, Andre makes a power play of his own, Hakeem's high spirits comes to a quick end due to a threat, Jamal and Tory struggle to cope with the success of their new music group, tension boils as the Lyons face Empire's most existential threat yet and someone's past mistakes leads to a deadly consequence.
