Stone is a status ailment that appears in EarthBound Beginnings. The status is caused by an attack called the Stone of Origin, shortened to StoneOrigin. It is most likely a precursor to the similar diamondization status in EarthBound.
Gargoyles, Bionic Bats, and BionicScorps often use this attack. A party member hit with this attack is rendered useless in battle, leaving them vulnerable to enemy attacks.
Stone can only be cured by a healer with the "Soften" option, or with Healing γ. An automatic Game Over occurs when all party members reach are either Unconscious or reach this status.
