PK Fire

PK Fire (PKファイア, PK Faia), PSI Fire in EarthBound, is an offensive PSI ability that appears in every game in the Mother series. PK Fire is realized in EarthBound Beginnings by Ana, in EarthBound by Paula, and in Mother 3 by Kumatora. PK Fire is usually effective on plant-like and ice enemies.

In EarthBound Beginnings and Mother 3, PK Fire of all tiers deals damage to all enemies on the screen. Its targeting works differently in EarthBound, however, as it only targets all enemies in a selected row. In EarthBound and Mother 3, PK Fire has the possibility of decreasing one of the targets' PSI Shield strength by 1. In Mother 3 only, PK Fire has a chance of setting enemies on fire, which makes them take a little damage every turn. In EarthBound Beginnings only, PK Fire Ω delivers a 1-Hit KO to all enemies, even to some of the ones not affected by PK Beam γ.

Lloyd's explosives in EarthBound Beginnings share effects with the levels of PK Fire. Bottle Rockets have the same effect as PK Fire α. Bombs are PK Fire β. Flame throwers, which unlike the other three fire weapons, are reusable, share their effect with PK Fire γ. Super Bombs lastly are PK Fire Ω, instantly KOing all enemies on the screen.

In EarthBound Beginnings, the effect of an enemy exploding (such as the BigWoodoh and SuperEnergy) also shares its effect with PK Fire and can be halved by the H2o Pendant.
