The original Cybermen were alien cyborgs from Earth's twin planet Mondas, later based on the planet Telos after Mondas was destroyed. In a parallel universe, a race of Cyberman was created on an alternate Earth by John Lumic, whose ambition was to "upgrade" the human race. Yet another iteration were used by Missy under the cover of 3W to convert the dead into an army.
