Matt Howarth was the chief illustrator for The Dune Encyclopedia, a semi-canonical reference book on the Dune universe published in 1984.
An American artist, Howarth has worked for decades as a freelance illustrator for a variety of publications, and is also the author of the comic book series Those Annoying Post Brothers.
