Symbolic Erasmus & Idaho

Independent Robots were thinking machines that did not or needed not to be synchronized with the data core of Omnius. A synchronization would erase all data, memories and experience of a robot.

They were a rarity in the Synchronized Worlds. Pilots of ships such as the captain of the Dream Voyager, Seurat, for a reason were independent robots.

The most notable independent Robot was Erasmus who during a point of his life, was lost on a crevasse and pondered alone for years. He gained individuality and when he was recovered, he found his achieved maturity so valuable that he asked Omnius not to be erased and synchronized with him.

Erasmus valued his individuality and often worried for the time that would come, when Omnius would request, showing signs of self-preservation.
