The desert owl is a nocturnal bird of prey found on the planet Arrakis. In his historic speech to the great Freeman Convocation at Red Wall Sietch, Liet-Kynes named some of the animals that had helped to improve the ecosystem of Arrakis - kit foxes, hares, desert hawks and dwarf owls.
