Curses!

Curses! is a 2023 animated streaming television series created by Jim Cooper and Jeff Dixon, produced by Dreamworks Animation Television and Sunday Night Productions streaming on Apple TV+, and animated by CGCG and House of Cool Studios. It ran for two seasons, with 20 episodes in total.

Synopsis

In season 1, when a generations-long family curse turns Alex Vanderhouven to stone, his wife Sky and kids Pandora and Russ discover a secret room under their house full of cursed artifacts. Now, it’s up to them to return artifacts stolen by their ancestors to their rightful homes to finally lift the family curse for good. Assisted by Larry and Stanley, the keepers of the restricted wing, they unravel more family secrets.

In season 2, the curse on Alex is broken, but he is still not back to his old self. As the family keeps returning cursed artifacts, a mysterious enemy begins to plot against them from the shadows.

Trivia

  • It is the second DreamWorks Animation Television production for Apple TV+ after Pinecone & Pony.
  • This is the first DreamWorks show to be co-produced by Sunday Night Productions who have done films like IF and A Quiet Place from director and founder John Krasinki, which he stared in both films minus A Quiet Place’s sequels and spin-off A Quiet Place: Day One.
