The Formless One is an ancient demon capable of taking multiple forms.
Background
The Formless One is one of the four Forbidden Ones, a group of unique and very ancient demons. The Formless One is demon capable of shifting between multiple different demonic forms, as well as possessing the corpses of creatures as large as dragons.
At some point during the Storm Age, the Formless One possessed the corpse of a deceased dragon that was sealed in the Chamber of the Unbound in the Grand Necropolis.
Involvement
In 9:52 Dragon, during the Sixth Blight, Rook and members of the Veilguard defeat the avatars of the Formless One around northern Thedas, unsealing the door to the Chamber of the Unbound in the Necropolis Halls. They defeat the Formless One, forcing it back into the Fade for another 1,000 years.
