- Gusty is one of three Explorer Stars who did not appear until Dora and Boots are heading to their destination, along with Silly Star and Fairy Star.
- Gusty is also the only Explorer Star to be immediately used before going into the star pocket with the other stars.
- despite Dora saying that gusty speaks Spanish, he doesn’t actually speak at all.
