“Provides Physical Armour. While Fortified, the target cannot be teleported. Removes Poisoned, Bleeding, Burning, Acid, Decaying.
„—Skill description
Fortify is a starter Geomancer skill in Divinity: Original Sin II.
Characteristics
Skill
Fortify is a supportive geomancer skill that allows caster to conjure a defensive barrier around their target, which provides Fortified status effect that restores
Physical Armour each turn for 3 turns but also increases the maximum amount of it. This status also prevents character from being forcefully teleported by any means.
Fortified status effect may be additionally granted by walking over blessed oil surfaces. Since this skill applies positive status effect it will always bypass armour.
Alongside these effects the Fortify will also remove Poisoned,
Bleeding,
Burning,
Acid,
Decaying,
Diseased and
Infected status effects.
Since Fortify relies on Geomancy magic it cannot be cast if caster is affected by Silenced and
Enraged status effects.
Scroll and Skillbook
Fortify skillbook is a magical item that allows its reader to learn Fortify skill, if they have at least 1 point into Geomancer ability, and use it indefinitely. In order to be able to cast the skill, character needs 1 free memory slot. Note that the book will disappear once read. The book weights 0.5 and its base value is 120 gold. A skillbook can be crafted if a Fortify scroll is combined with a Blank Earth Skillbook. Since Fortify is a starter Geomancer skill, it is available right from the start of the game. Traders selling Geomancer skillbooks will have this book for sale since the start of the game as well.
Fortify scroll is a magical item that allows any character to cast Fortify skill, regardless of skill prerequisites, but only once. The only limiting element in casting Fortify this way is the amount of Action Points (AP) character has at their disposal in current turn. The scroll is craftable, weights 0.02 and has base value of 50 gold.
The cost of Action Points between Fortify scroll and Fortify skill themselves remains the same. Both the scroll and the skill itself are affected by other skills and talents that may provide additional bonuses.
Skill Modifiers
Fortify is a supportive skill whose effects depend on the following characteristics of the caster:
- Level
- Geomancer
Outside of the Level of the caster only their Geomancer ability can influence the amount of Physical Armour gained by Fortify.
Fortify properties can be affected by talents and other skills only.
