Varra is a Marvel Comics character who made her introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the Disney+ show Secret Invasion. She is a Skrull who took the identity of the terminally ill Priscilla Davis with her consent, and later married Nick Fury and joined the Skrull Resistance.
Varra was created by Al Ewing and Gerardo Sandoval.
Background
During the Kree-Skrull War, Varra left her home on Skrullos and traveled to Earth. While there, she found a young Skrull named Gravik, whose parents died during a battle. She brought him to Nick Fury and Talos, who were housing refugee Skrulls.
Sometime after this, Varra met the terminally ill Priscilla Davis, and the two quickly became friends. One day, Varra revealed to Davis that she was a Skrull. Varra offered for Davis to fall in love with Fury and told her she would impersonate her after she died. Davis agreed under three conditions: she would bury her in the sea, she would continue to act as a daughter to her parents, and that she would never hurt Fury.
Varra, as Davis, worked with Fury to gather information on General Dreykov. Sometime in 1998, Varra waited for Fury at a diner and read a poem collection by Raymond Carver. As he sat down, Fury recognized Varra. Varra hinted that the two should date, though Fury said that commanders could not date people working under them. Varra responded to this by saying she was not officially on any record, being a Skrull.
After the Avengers defeated the Chitauri in 2012, Varra met with Fury at a restaurant in Paris. Fury asked her about the book she was reading, and she explained it was a poetry collection. She then began to recite her favorite poem, "Late Fragment".
When Fury was blipped in 2018, Varra felt abandoned, but soon moved on.
Fury was resurrected five years later, and Varra hoped to return to the way things were between them, though Fury instead opted to leave Earth to work for S.A.B.E.R. in space, leaving Varra feeling abandoned once more. After Fury left, Varra joined the Skrull Resistance, led by Gravik, who desired to make Earth a permanent home for Skrulls.
Physical appearance
While taking on the appearance of Priscilla Davis, Varra appears as a middle-aged African American woman with black hair. She also wears a teal shirt.

Secret Invasion
Around two years after leaving Earth, Nick Fury returned to their home in England, catching Varra by surprise. The two then embraced, being reunited.
The following morning, Varra asked Fury what had prompted him to come back to Earth. Fury dodged the question, which led to Varra expressing her feelings of being abandoned by him. Unsure if she was the same person as she was before he left, he asked if she had been talking to Gravik. Varra then snapped at Fury, further explaining how she had become a widow after he was blipped and soon left for space after he was resurrected. She then took a phone call, though she said it was not important and walked away.
Sometime later, she was contacted by Raava, who was impersonating James Rhodes. She told Varra to go to the local bank and retrieve a gun stored in a safe deposit box. Raava then told her to meet her at a church in an hour.
After some time waiting, Raava soon arrived, and Varra told her that Fury had been fired. Raava informed her that she already knew, as she was the one who fired him. Raava then ordered her to kill Fury with the gun, though Varra was reluctant to do so, and tried to persuade Raava, telling her he is not a threat to their cause. Raava simply told her she would kill her if she failed to do so.
Varra then arrived home, though she noticed that Fury's wedding ring had been placed in a bowl, and she soon found him in the kitchen. Varra asked him if he would be staying, and he said he would be leaving soon for work. The two then sat down with the tea he had made, and he commented about not wanting to be her husband anymore, knowing about her meeting with Raava and her plan to kill him. Sitting down, they then began to recite Varra's favorite poem, "Late Fragment". As soon as they were done doing so, they each raised their guns at each other and fired, though it was revealed that they both purposely aimed at the wall, not having the strength to kill the other. Fury then joked that they would have to renew their wedding vows and that the Skrull Resistance would soon come after her after finding out she had failed to carry out her mission.
Days later, Varra waited in her home for the Skrull Resistance to come to her. She saw a Skrull enter and pointed her gun at it, though the Skrull was revealed to be G'iah, the daughter of Talos. G'iah stated that she had come to seek her assistance in cremating her father.
The two went outside, where they performed a traditional Skrull death ritual. As part of the ceremony, Varra asked G'iah if she had an offering and responded by putting her mother's ring on his body.
After the ritual, the two went inside, and G'iah asked why Gravik was after her, and Varra responded by saying that she had defied a direct order from him by not killing Fury. A few moments later, they were greeted by multiple Skrulls who had been sent to kill Varra. Varra and G'iah then armed themselves, and despite being outnumbered, they were able to defeat them. After their victory, Varra hastily drove G'iah to her location and warned her to be safe.
Varra then returned home and began cleaning up when Fury entered. Fury apologized for being absent as a husband and told her he would be leaving.
Later, after Gravik had been defeated, Varra met Fury at the location where he was to be picked up by S.A.B.E.R. to resume his work in space. Varra told him to call her by her birth name instead of Priscilla, and Fury told her the Kree were opening peace talks with the Skrulls. Fury then told her to help him as a diplomat, complimenting her skills. Varra agreed, though she said that she would eventually have to return to Earth. Varra then changed into her Skrull form, and the two embraced.
