Robert F. "Bob" Jani was the creative director of Walt Disney Productions, responsible for many of Disneyland and Walt Disney World's classic shows, most notably the Main Street Electrical Parade and America on Parade.
Joining the company at age 21, Jani became the head of the newly created Guest Relations Department at Disneyland in 1955. He left in the early 1960s for other ventures, but returned in 1967 as Director of Entertainment, quickly rose to vice president, and then to creative director.
In 1978, he left Disney again and started Robert F. Jani Productions, where he was in charge of all productions at New York City's Radio City Music Hall from 1979 to 1982, created "The Glory of Christmas" at Garden Grove's Crystal Cathedral in 1981, and drafted the master plan for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Jani later served as the master plan consultant for the construction of Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World.
Jani was posthumously named a Disney Legend in 2005. He is also honored with a window on Disneyland's Main Street, U.S.A., above the Bank of Main Street, proclaiming his office as the "Main Street Electrical Parade World Headquarters".
