Penny Rose

Penelope Ann Rose is a British costume designer, who, for Disney, worked on the Pirate of the Caribbean film series, designing the iconic look for Jack Sparrow. She also costumed for Touchstone Pictures' Evita, Wild Hogs, and King Arthur.

Born in London, England, Rose grew up in the Hammersmith district and began her costume experience in local theater as teenager before studying stage management at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. While working in West End theater, she acquired a job as an interpreter for fashion designer Elio Fiorucci which introduced her to high profile people in both the fashion and film industry. Her career in design took off when she was hired as a last-minute backup for director Adrian Lynne for a commercial.

Breaking into the film industry in 1976, Rose worked on several films, such as Whose Child Am I?, The Brute, Pink Floyd – The Wall, Another Country, Shadowlands, The Road to Wellville, Mission: Impossible, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, 47 Ronin, The Mummy (2017), and Men in Black: International. Rose received her first Emmy nomination for the 2010 miniseries The Pacific and has been nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Costume Design three times through her work.
