- “Globes like this put everything in perspective - it's a small world after all.”
- ―The player's Mii in Disney Magical World 2
A Mii is a customizable avatar used on several Nintendo video game consoles and services. They appear as both playable and background characters in various Disney video games.
Background
Mii characters debuted along with the Wii console in late 2006, and are designed to be digital representations of the player. They can be created using the system's Mii Channel application, and users are able to customize many aspects of their appearance and facial features, such as their height, hairstyle, and eye color. Once created, Mii characters act as avatars for players in a variety of titles and as a way of keeping track of individual players' scores. Mii characters saved onto a console are also capable of appearing as non-playable characters in games, usually acting as bystanders or spectators. Mii characters would also see use in a few Nintendo DS games, and later in several games on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, with the latter two being made using the Mii Maker application preinstalled on the system. Mii characters would also return on the Nintendo Switch, with color choices and other customizable options greatly expanded on.
Appearances
Dance Dance Revolution Disney Grooves
Mii characters make their first appearance in Disney-related media in the 2009 music game Dance Dance Revolution Disney Grooves as unlockable playable dancers. They can be dressed in various costumes based off of Disney and Dance Dance Revolution characters which are unlocked within the game's Groove Mode.[1]
Disney Channel All Star Party

Mii characters reappear in Disney Channel All Star Party as both playable and background characters that are seen throughout the game's hub world and various Disney Channel locations.[2] They are unlocked once the player places first to third in every minigame and they can be freely customized in outfits and accessories. Miis can also be unlocked by inputting the code "unlockall" in the main menu.
Disney Magical World series

Mii characters once again appear in Disney Magical World as the main protagonists, although generic avatars designed after them are also available to play as upon the game's opening.[3] Throughout the series, they are depicted as magical heroes residing in Castleton filled with dreams; having the ability to defeat ghosts with wands granted by Yen Sid and even shape-shift in certain Disney worlds. Miis are also capable of managing and working in the game's café, and the player can employ other Mii characters saved onto their system as servers and dancers.
They play the same role in the sequel Disney Magical World 2 as well as its remastered version on the Nintendo Switch system, where the player's Mii returns to Castleton because of Mickey Mouse's special invitation sent to them. In addition, they can now attend Dream Parades; special sequences taking place inside their dreams which are heavily inspired by the Main Street Electrical Parade.
Appearances in other video games
Marvel Super Hero Squad
Miis make an appearance in the Nintendo Wii version of Marvel Super Hero Squad as a way for players to track their records and scores within the game's battle mode.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Miis appear as playable and background characters in the crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They can be one of three fighting types (Brawler, Swordfighter, and Gunner) and can be customized with various outfits, accessories, voices, and special moves.
